Was your California disability insurance claim denied?

Health insurance policies are supposed to offer us coverage for a variety of situations. There are times, unfortunately, when insurance companies deny a claim for illegitimate reasons. This can be particularly devastating to the insured person, particularly if they are dealing with a long-term disability.

Home improvement scammers prey on the elderly

As you get older, so does your home. In fact, 60 percent of seniors live in homes that are more than 20 years old. This means your home probably needs some improvements, repairs or accommodations for you as it becomes more difficult for you to get around. You may have explained this to the contractor who offered to do some work for you, and you never imagined someone would take advantage of your situation.

9th Circuit Court: Car dealership service advisers are not exempt

Earlier this year, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that service advisers at automotive dealerships, unlike salespeople and mechanics, are not exempt from overtime wages. A panel of three judges found, after extensive review of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), that Congress never intended to exempt this group of employees.
